i had a dream last night i was being chased by flesh-eating zombies.

tomorrow is new year's eve. i was planning on driving down to san diego to see two of my favorite people. i'm having second thoughts. not about them being my favorites, but about the drive. driving down there after work is no fun...especially with traffic.
i'm an awful flake.
horrible.
awful.
flake.

new years resolution #1: no more flaking.

today i:
*saw a movie (lars and the real girl) and did lunch with shan and anna
*am freezing. the little space heater tries so hard but just can't keep up with the cold.

I woke up bright and early this morning, determined to spend at least an hour or so cleaning. Who does that?! It wasn't as bad as I had expected, thanks, once again, to The Shins. I was literally smiling to myself when "A Comet Appears" began to play. And, to make the morning even better, the smell of charred vegetation has left the building!

Plans for today:
Work on building a new web site and e-newsletter for Refuge.
Stop neglecting my guitar and actually play a few songs.
Convince Sara to drive up and visit me -- I'm craving a late sushi lunch and a few drinks with my dear friend.

My house smells of burnt vegetables. It's probably one of my least favorite smells...ever. I left the collard greens on too long when I came home for lunch. The smell still hasn't left.

My Friday night will consist of watching Anchor Man to the stench of burnt veggies. Can my life get any more exciting?

A little somethin' somethin' I doodled at work today:

I had a dream last night. I was out in the rain with arms outstretched, face to the sky, twirling and smiling. It's the first dream I've remembered in a very, very long time. Wonderful.

Work was slow today and it would have been painful without the company of Wincing The Night Away by The Shins. What a fantastic album, even with rotten speakers. Note to self: find a set of speakers that aren't completely blown.

Here's a little something I doodled yesterday at work to pass the time:
